Congratulations to Jason Shiplett who has exceeded expectations at the U.S. Census Bureau and received recognition for proving himself an exceptional administrator in providing services and contributions in 2011. The U.S. Census Bureau submitted the following letter of appreciation for Jason Shiplett’s exceptional work:
Jason Shiplett of NetStar Systems International, has worked in the Information Technology (IT) Directorate’s LAN Technology Support Division (LTSO) in the Systems Architecture Branch (SAB) as a senior-level VMware Architect and IT administrator. He has proven himself an exceptional administator knowledgeable in many facets of VMware datacenter server design and support, and with the various interrelated technologies such as SAN, Blade Server, and several guest server Operating Systems.
His expertise has been critical to the progress of IT’s virutalization implementation, a platform that is interconnected with every other platform IT supports. Mr. Shiplett advised and acted as a key VMware design expert for the Census Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and coordinated with Citrix engineers to implement both pilot and Enterprise production implementations. These endeavors will ultimately lead to a transformation in the Census desktop infrastructure and offer great flexibility for staff telecommuting and work-at-home options. Mr. Shiplett provided technical assistance with other team members to maintain and upgrade nearly 125 VMware host servers and support of almost 800 guest server systems across the Census IT infrastructure. Mr. Shiplett’s dedication to assigned system tasks and his professionalism helped us achieve critical systems work and participation on key system implementation projects on time and with little or no impact to customer workloads.
Mr. Shiplett’s technical expertise and knowledge continue to grow and mature and he has excellent working relationships with IT colleagues. Mr. Shiplett continues to be an asset for our branch and to IT and his efforts and diligence are recognized.
On behalf of the management and staff of LTSO SAB and the IT Directorate at the U.S. Census Bureau, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for Jason’s services and contributions in 2011.
